Food for Thought

In the morning this lady named Adele came from the heart foundation and she came over to room 8 to talk about the foods that we were eating.

She told us about the unhealthy thing that we were not supposed eat. She talked about fats like chicken, Meat, pizza and seafood. She also talked about Sugar like Sodas, lollies, chocolates and ice cream. Unhealthy food is not a everyday food.

Adele also talked about the healthy thing that you have to eat every day. She talked about Fruits and vegetable and how they can help you by giving you vitamins and Minerals. She also talked about bread and cereals and how it helps you by giving you energy and fibre. Healthy food is very good for you body.

We also did activity about the healthy food and unhealthy food. We did activity about cereals and  how much sugar and energy is in it. The next activity we did was about how much sugar is in soda cans and soda bottle. If you drink to much soda you will be fat and get sick.

It was fantastic having Adele in our classroom and I am looking forward to go to pak'nsave on 2 August.

Basic Facts T3W1

Today I have gone backwards. I have gone backward because I haven’t been
learn my division and don’t have that much time in the timed test. I need to
work harder and more fast to get to the next stage. I have to learn my divisions,
fractions and percentages by learning it at home and asking one of my older
family member to teach me at home. If I don’t work hard I will have to
move down a stage.

In week three I got 52% at stage 7 In week 10  my results were 72% at stage 7.

I am happy with my results because I have improved. I have made an effort to l
earn my fractions and percentages and I have to achieve within curriculum
level 3 in year 6. I am still on stage 7 because I am rarely learning my basic
facts so I need to work harder.
